Welcome to FinlandFinland is located in Northern Europe, in Scandinavia. Our summers are warm and light, in Lapland the sun does not set for some months. In wintertime we have snow and ice all over the country and it can also be very cold here. Nature is very important for us. Most of the lakes are in southern Finland and in Lapland there are many high fells. Two thirds of Finland’s total land area is covered by forests. Therefore our country exports wood and paper products all over the world. Finland also has a good knowledge of metal, high-tech and chemical industries. High education level and good language skills enable wide international contacts. Finland is situated by the Baltic Sea, which makes sea and air freight transport important for us.
